Generosity is an anti-depressant.

Depressed people were randomly assigned to give less than a penny a day to charity. Over the next 2 months, moods improved and depression declined. The more they gave, the better they felt.

Even small acts of kindness elevate mental health.

It feels good to believe you have the agency and power to make changes in your life. Being stuck is awful but hope can give you the motivation to change your behaviors and over a long period of time, that can result in significant healing.

Talk to a new person.
Listen to a new podcast.
