London School of Psychology and Counselling is located in London, UK, a leading centre of world-class teaching and research in psychology.
Our School is a private research institution that supports the global community of psychologists, counsellors and psychotherapists through online professional education and rigorous research.
We offer online courses and qualifications for psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists, life coaches, mental health workers and practitioners in allied fields of practice. Our students can also enrol in online workshops that run every month to support their continuing professional development. The workshops, courses and qualifications may be of interest for professionals who run private psychology practices, teach psychology students, supervise psychologists and psychotherapists or conduct psychological research.
Our highly qualified lecturers have developed unique teaching materials based on the latest research findings in psychology, counselling or mental healthcare that are of practical use for both novice specialists and experienced professionals. Our teaching is largely informed by extensive research into psychology, counselling, psychotherapy and mental healthcare conducted at our School’s Centre for Advanced Psychological Research.
Our School offers more than 70 courses and qualifications to psychology students and practitioners who value their time and opt for self-study to prepare for exams or undertake continuing professional development without interruptions in their careers. Our courses have been designed to suit the needs of both practising professionals who wish to keep abreast of news in their industries and students who are preparing for qualifying exams in psychology, psychotherapy or mental healthcare. A full range of courses offered by London School of Psychology and Counselling can be viewed here.
A number of our courses are particularly relevant for administrators managing psychology and medical schools as they provide guidance on the latest trends in financial management, operations management, marketing, human resource management, leadership and entrepreneurship in the mental healthcare educational sector.
We also offer intensive Professional English language courses for psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors planning to move to an English-speaking country for work or further studies in their professional fields. In particular, we run English for Psychologists, English for Mental Health Professionals and English for Sports Coaching courses accredited by Oxford TESOL Accreditation Centre (Accreditation Number: 6172186233). In partnership with Oxford School of Advanced TESOL Studies, we offer a professional certificate in Teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) with specialisation in psychology, mental healthcare and sports coaching, a unique qualification for English language teachers teaching English as a foreign language to psychology, mental healthcare and sports coaching students in language schools or in higher education establishments.
We also offer support and online university preparation courses for international students who are planning to study psychology, counselling or mental healthcare at a UK university in the near future.
All our courses are recognised as verified CPD that can be supported by evidence, such as course notes, produced course work, tutor-marked end-of-course assessment and a certificate of completion. Each course content ensures that students engage in meaningful, tutor-curated learning, professional skills development, reading and research. Individual records from the learning journal can also be transferred to a self-evaluation sheet as third party evidence for informal CPD. Moreover, our students can print out a letter of good standing as proof of their studies with LSPC should their professional bodies require additional evidence.
Specialising primarily in psychology and counselling, our experienced lecturers have also developed teaching materials that are available for our colleagues who teach psychology, counselling, leadership coaching as well as mental health and social care in further education establishments. A wealth of information on teaching methodology can be found in the teachers’ resources section in LSPC Psychology Magazine published by our School.
Our School recognises that continuing professional development for psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors is a valuable investment in the future, contributing enormously both to their personal and career growth and to overall wellbeing in society that can rely on knowledgeable professionals who constantly upgrade their skills to provide better help. To help our existing or prospective students advance their careers in psychology and psychology-related fields, the LSPC Foundation for Advancing Careers in Psychology offers various grants towards LSPC tuition fees and research costs.
